Approved in compliance with the main standards and regulations
For economic reasons carbon steel systems are normally used that have VdS certification for wet sprinkler systems as well as the "FM APPROVED" seal and are confirmed for suitability in fixed water extinguishing systems and sprinkler systems on ships. The use of Geberit Mapress Stainless Steel is also possible. Geberit MapressCuNiFe is often used in shipbuilding applications.
High corrosion protection
Geberit Mapress Carbon Steel pipes are protected against corrosion by internal and external zinc-plating. Geberit Mapress Stainless Steel has very high corrosion protection due to its alloy with a high molybdenum content. In closed systems, non-alloy pipes and pipes without zinc-plating on the inside develop a protective iron oxide layer due to the reaction with the low amount of oxygen.
